SAMHSA's Recovery Month

The Recovery Month website, published by SAMHSA, aims to "promote the societal benefits of alcohol and drug use disorder treatment, laud the contributions of treatment providers and promote the message that recovery from alcohol and drug use disorders in all its forms is possible." The site features articles, webcasts (videos) and listings of recovery events in local communities. A 'recovery month' toolkit is available for professionals planning recovery-oriented community events.

The National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP)
The NREPP is intended to improve access to the most recent information about effective mental health treatments, including addictions treatment. Each of the treatments listed in the NREPP have met the basic criteria to be included as an evidenced-based treatment.

Supports and conducts biomedical and behavioral research on the causes, consequences, treatment, and prevention of alcoholism and alcohol-related problems. Should You Talk to Someone About a Drug, Alcohol, or Mental Health Problem?
This brochure lists questions consumers can ask themselves to help them decide whether to seek help for a substance abuse problem, a mental health issue, or both. It urges those who answered "yes" to any of the questions to seek help and lists resources for more information. It is available as a digital download (PDF) or you can order hard copies to be mailed to you.
